Coming up 2009
Potfest in the Park 24th to 26th July
I'll be back again to exhibit at Potfest in the Park, one of the best and most fun ceramic shows of the year.
Featuring over 100 selected potters in marquees on the parkland at Hutton-in-the-Forest, a stately home four miles north west of Penrith, Cumbria. ( M6 Jnct 41 ) The venue of Hutton-in-the-Forest was chosen as a cultural experience in itself. The House, originally a border fortification, exudes an air of calm tranquillity and stands in a relatively small and intimate parkland. As well as in marquees, work will be displayed in the grounds.
This year 24 potters from outside the UK will be showing their work - many for the first time in the UK. A special feature will be six guests from Hohr-Grenzhausen, an old pottery town in Germany. In the past the town was famous for its salt-glazed ware, but in recent years many younger potters doing more contemporary work have moved into the area.
Hohr-Grenzhausen also hosts an international ceramics market and is the home of the renowned Westerwald Keramik Museum.
