This piece was directly inspired from a diving experience. I created the surface by overlaying the textured clay almost in a patchwork way to mirror the amazing textures found in corals and crustaceans. I didn't wish to try and recreate coral, I aimed for this piece to allude to the ocean.
This pod has been constructed from a white clay with a barium glaze. It has been through three firings to create the beautiful blue colouring. These pods are approximately 15cm in length and 11cm in diameter at the widest point.
NB. All my pieces are handmade and totally unique. The piece you will receive may not be the exact one shown in the image. However, it will be just as beautiful with only subtle differences.
