Origin The London Craft Fair

02 Oct 2007 Until
07 Oct 2007

Two weeks showcasing the very best of contemporary design in the beautiful setting of Somerset House.

More than 150 established designers and rising stars take part each week in this showcase for contemporary craft in the UK, held in a pavilion in the courtyard. Available to buy or commission are works in disciplines spanning glass, ceramics, jewellery, metal, furniture and textiles; there are also workshops, demonstrations and talks for kids and adults, this year with a focus on basketry. Eight basket makers present their work, which includes such surprises as Laura Ellen Bacon's large-scale, bird's nest-style structures on one of the exterior pavilion walls. In the Crafting Space area, visitors including families can take part in basketry workshops involving weaving and reconstructing familiar objects in new forms - all designed to show that basketry is a vital and contemporary craft.

Ellul Ceramics will be exhibiting during week one.
