This piece was directly inspired from a diving experience. I created the surface by overlaying the textured clay almost in a patchwork way to mirror the amazing textures found in corals and crustaceans. I didn't wish to try and recreate coral, I aimed for this piece to allude to the ocean.

This bowl has been constructed from a white stonewre clay with a barium glaze. It has been through three firings to create the beautiful blue colouring. It is 32cm in diameter.
